Brainspotting Services

Brainspotting is only conducted by: Brandy T. Kolenbrander-Roberts, LCSW-C

Brainspotting locates points in the client’s visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered in 2003 by David Grand, Ph.D. Over 70,000  therapists have been trained in BSP, in the United States, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Africa. Dr. Grand discovered that “Where you look affects how you feel.” It is the brain activity, especially in the subcortical brain that organizes itself around that eye position.

In early 2019 Brandy suffered a severe trauma that led to PTSD and was referred by a colleague to do “Brainspotting” to resolve her PTSD. Through “Brainspotting” Brandy was able to recover quickly from her symptoms and she has remained symptom free. What could have taken years of “Talk Therapy” was resolved in 6 months with Brainspotting. This experience drove Brandy to complete the multiple intensive trainings to deliver Brainspotting to her clients to integrate into her therapy modality to help clients heal from all types of trauma(s) that can be applied to all areas of stress for clients. Brandy’s new clinical vision is to integrate Brainspotting into her practice to heal clients quickly, effectively, and permanently. Brandy is in awe of the results she is achieving from Brainspotting work with traumatized clients.

What is a Brainspot?

Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation, and a variety of challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with BioLateral sound, which is deep, direct, powerful yet focused and containing.

Brainspotting functions as a neurobiological tool to support the clinical healing relationship. There is no replacement for a mature, nurturing therapeutic presence and the ability to engage another suffering human in a safe and trusting relationship where they feel heard, accepted, and understood.

Why choose Brainspotting?

Brainspotting gives us a tool, within this clinical relationship, to neurobiologically locate, focus, process, and release experiences and symptoms that are typically out of reach of the conscious mind and its cognitive and language capacity.

Brainspotting works with the deep brain and the body through its direct access to the autonomic and limbic systems within the body’s central nervous system. Brainspotting is accordingly a physiological tool/treatment which has profound psychological, emotional, and physical consequences.

The future of Brainspotting

Brainspotting is adaptable to almost all areas of specialization. Brainspotting provides Brandy with a powerful tool to enable her clients to quickly and effectively process through the deep brain sources of many held traumas, emotional, somatic and performance problems.
