  • Brandy founded Remedy Counseling, LLC in 2010 and believes in giving back to her community. Remedy Counseling, LLC has been open for the past 13 years and has excellent working relationships with other professionals in the community.

Brandy has a female German Shepherd named “Presia” that has become the practice’s office “Mascot” and is very therapeutic to current clients and staff.

Brandy is a clinical social worker with advanced training and extensive expertise in all areas of the mental health field for over 25 years.  Brandy has always delivered services through the “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” modality and the traditional “Talk Therapy” proven to be effective to help clients stabilize, heal, and become as symptom free as possible.

In early 2019 Brandy suffered a severe trauma that led to PTSD and was referred by a colleague to do “Brainspotting” to resolve her PTSD. Through “Brainspotting” Brandy was able to recover quickly from her symptoms and she has remained symptom free. What could have taken years of “Talk Therapy” was resolved in 6 months with Brainspotting. This experience drove Brandy to complete the multiple intensive trainings to deliver Brainspotting to her clients to integrate into her therapy modality to help clients heal from all types of trauma(s) that can be applied to all areas of stress for clients. Brandy’s new clinical vision is to integrate Brainspotting into her practice to heal clients quickly, effectively, and permanently. Brandy is in awe of the results she is achieving from Brainspotting work with traumatized clients.

Brandy is already an expert in trauma as well as many other complex issues and diagnoses that bring clients to therapy. Brainspotting has now become her most powerful modality to become the best trauma healer and she is very passionate about delivering this service to better serve her clients.

Brandy will continue to deliver effective interventions to clients based on her vast expertise as an outpatient mental health therapist. These established modalities are still very effective for clients to resolve issues and achieve mood stability to achieve a more positive lifestyle. Clients can choose to do Brainspotting along with conventional mental health treatment sessions in between Brainspotting sessions.

  • I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and I have been working in the field for 6 years. I

received my Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins and completed my graduate internship doing

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy; thus, combining my two passions, therapy and animals. I was

able to develop a strong foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and

commitment therapy, with an emphasis on loving kindness and mindfulness. Once COVID hit,

my career path changed directions and I ended up working in corrections for almost four years.

Working in such an environment allowed me to truly see the other side of humanity and the

struggles and challenges they faced; thus, giving me a much broader perspective and level of

empathy that I currently bring to my practice. At this time, I am going back to my “roots” in

traditional therapy, grounded in a strengths perspective, focusing on the individual as a whole

and working to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. I have experience working with

adolescents to adults. I have worked with individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD,

eating/feeding disorders, mood disorders, and substance use disorders.
